We are an Extended School

Welcome from The Headteacher
I am very proud to be the Headteacher of this lovely community primary school. I have been Headteacher here since September 2005. Before this I was a Deputy Headteacher for some considerable years in Gloucester. I have been a teacher for nearly twenty years.

Blakeney School is a small primary school, on a beautiful site. Currently there are 94 children on roll. We operate 4 teaching groups, each named after the classes in the Harry Potter series. Each class is supported by a TA

I hope you will find the information here on our website an interesting and useful read. It should provide you with a flavour about our school community. We are very proud of our School's reputation within the local area for both ensuring that academic potential is fulfilled and for making a valuable contribution to the community.

You are always most welcome to pay us a visit to provide colour to the sketch set out in these pages. I believe if you were to do so that you would see a happy school with very hard working and committed staff; children who are pleased to be part of our on going work together and a community well supported by governors and parents/carers alike.

We are working hard to develop what we do and we are undertaking some exciting new changes and projects. We are fully committed to doing the best for our children (from 4 to 11 years) and they are held as paramount in all our decisions. We have a team here and it is through that team pulling in the same direction that we will continue to create a place where exceptional education can be witnessed first hand.

Staff teach in a variety of ways, focussing on a Personalised Learning approach to our pupils’ development. We have a variety of ways to identify either individual or groups of pupil who need specific support. It is with this information that we can offer strategies to enhance learning.

However, it is the ethos of the school of which we are most proud. Our pupils are caring and thoughtful. They have a competitive edge, like all children, and want to succeed. Our staff pride themselves on being part of a team. The school really is a pleasure to work in.
